In prayerful offering of love and devotion to God, the St. James Altar Guild cares for the altar, vessels and linens that are used in services each Sunday, holy day and other days of worship or special occasion in the community of the church.

The altar, before which gather the priest and people to offer to God our love, praise, adoration, thanksgiving and petitions in the act of corporate worship, is central to the heritage of the Episcopal Church. Caring for this sacred space is an offering of love and devotion to God.

Altar Guild members work as teams or individuals to prepare the altar space and vessels for services and to clean and store them afterwards.
