A Note From Father Rob

Summer at the lake. Ah! It doesn’t get too much better than that. So, where is the best place and what is the best time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Lake Martin? It just may be Church in the Pines at noon on Sundays!

Lord knows I love our St. James nave; it is one of the prettiest and most holy spaces I know. However, I do love to worship in the great outdoors next to Lake Martin. There is a special ‘connectedness’ I feel with the Holy Spirit when I worship in that contemplative setting.

We still have our regular summer service at St. James at 9 a.m. this Sunday, but I’m glad to be returning to the lake at noon. There, we and our families and friends will celebrate our Lord’s love for us in a relaxed, casual manner, nestled in this beautiful part of God’s creation we call home.
