A Note From Father Rob

Our parish bazaar has a long history at St. James. In the early days of our life together in Alexander City, faithful members of the parish sewed sock-monkeys and created other hand-made crafts to raise money for the construction fund. In later years, the money raised went to youth and other ministries. Over the past 13 years, funds raised from the sale of various arts and crafts have augmented our outreach commitment.

So, ever since the beginning of our St. James parish, the talents and creative skills of our members, as well as the generosity of our time, has supported our mission and ministry in this part of God’s Kingdom. If you are busily working in your favorite medium to support our annual bazaar, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you don’t consider yourself ‘crafty,’ then please consider helping in one of many other ways.

We have recipes that can be easily cooked and frozen as a part of our food sales. Recipes and other supplies are in the kitchen off the parish hall. If you can bake a cake, please do so, freeze it and bring it to one of the church freezers. We need volunteers for the parking lots, greeters at the doors, folks to help with sales, set-up, clean-up and many other jobs.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It supports many of the ministries we offer to this community. I appreciate all who have made it what it has become, and I look forward to another opportunity to work together with the loving members of our parish in the service of our Lord.

Peace my friends, Rob+
