A Note From Father Rob

I believe this year we will celebrate our 13th annual bazaar on November 11 at St. James. Of course, over the years much has changed. The variety and quality of crafts and art forms has grown every year, as have the offerings of food and desserts; however, nothing has changed more over the years than the variety of pottery we have displayed.

What started out with simple forms and colors has grown into exquisite offerings with intricate colors and finishes. Every year, the pottery guild members hide away in the lower rooms of the church, working diligently month after month, to produce more and more beautiful objects of functional art. Just whenI think they have reached their zenith, I once again am proven wrong.

The same is true for all of the handcrafted items offer at this spectacular event - the embroidered towels, the intricately painted ornaments and note cards, the beautiful jewelry, aprons, baby blankets and more.

I just want to express to all of you, how much I appreciate the hard work put in by so many talented people over the course of the year - year after year. Of course, this work isn’t done by these artists for their own benefit, but in the name of every person who benefits from the funds we earn through our bazaar sales.

So, whether you have been making pottery, sewing fabrics, painting, cutting, baking, cooking or creating some goods for our event, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. May God continue to bless our work, our time and our offerings of love.
