A Note From Father Rob
I’m always surprised with the number of announcements that find their way into our service bulletins this time of year. It’s a busy time at St. James, and our announcements in the bulletins reflect that, from special outreach projects to end-of-year parish business, Christmas celebrations, services and gatherings.
There are opportunities to make Christmas special for someone who is alone in a local nursing home or at Bill Nichols Veterans Home. You can purchase ‘Soup to Go’ gift cards to give a thoughtful gift, as well as support our St. James food ministry. We have Christmas poinsettia memorials that support our altar flower ministry. We have liturgical calendars for sale, vestry nominations, Christmas parties and more. It’s a busy way to begin a new Church year; and yet, I’m not quite ready to let go of the last one.
Before we let the bustle of the season carry us into a new year, allow me the luxury to linger just a moment longer and reflect on our last 12 months together. It was a wonderful year at St. James, and I want to thank each and every one of you for all you have done and contributed, that we might carry out the ministries and missions of our parish together. God has given me many things for which to be thankful. Our parish community is just one of them. I look forward to another year of serving our Lord together, in mutual love, respect and hope, with all of you.
Peace, Rob+
