A Note From Father Rob
This week is the 81st General Convention of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. The Convention is being held in Louisville, Kentucky, and yes, our Deacon Judy is there. I can’t say I know anyone who is more ‘where they should be’ than Judy, and I am thankful for her involvement. I look forward to hearing all about convention upon her return.
In the meantime, we have two services once again this weekend: one in town at nine and one at the lake at noon. Our musical group, the St. James Gang, will back in full force and will include new church member Brad Cocke. Brad and his wife, Marquita, recently joined St. James as transfers from St. Thomas in Birmingham. Please welcome Brad and Marquita next time you see them.
Speaking of our lake service, our diocesan bishop, the Rt. Rev. Glenda Curry, will join us on July 28 at the lake, so mark your calendars. We look forward to our annual visit from the bishop’s office at Carpenter House. This year, the bishop will confirm parish member Bee Worpell, as well as reaffirm the faith of others.
We have a lot lined up for our lake services this year. I hope you can join us.
Peace my friends. Rob+
