A Note From Father Rob

This morning, as I watch the news from around the Southeast concerning last night’s storms, I am reminded of just how precarious our lives are and how fast our situations can change.

In times of crisis, be they natural disasters, pandemics or other humanitarian emergencies, people of good heart tend to come together and unite in a singular cause. Donations pour in; medical teams engage; and strangers offer shelter to displaced families. Work teams arrive and begin to clear and rebuild. There is much to be done; however, not every act of kindness needs to be a grand gesture. In the end, it’s the everyday acts of kindness – the smiles, the helping hands, the shared burdens – that lift people’s hearts and spirits, so they can begin to heal and rebuild their lives.

Please keep those affected by Hurricane Helene in your prayers and consider ways you might be able to help our neighbors to the south and east. It is in times like these that the love of God shines greatest in our hearts and allows us the opportunity to truly be our neighbor’s keepers.

Lord, allow me to be an inspiration to someone today.
