A Note From Father Rob
I joined my first Episcopal Church in Guntersville, Alabama, because I loved the liturgy of the services. I loved the people in the parish, and I loved the priest, the Rev. Joseph Sanderson. The next step for me was confirmation in the Church. That’s when I learned about … ‘the others.’
Who were ‘the others?’ They are the people in the Episcopal Church up the hill in Albertville, the next town over, and the people who worship at Episcopal churches in Birmingham and Huntsville and Hartselle … they all do their services just like ours, all around the part of the state that we call the Diocese of Alabama. I was surprised to find there were more than 30,000 people in our diocese, which is run from the bishop’s offices at Carpenter House in Birmingham.
I tell you all of this because you may not know that a lot of talented and dedicated Episcopalians are doing a lot of fantastic things around our diocese: Lessons & Carols services; classes and programs; chili cook-offs to fund ministries and so much more.
To find out about the great events and efforts of Episcopalians around the diocese, you can sign up for the Diocese of Alabama Newsletter. It’s packed with information about all kinds of things going on around our diocese. In fact, that’s how many Episcopal part-time lake homeowners found out about our Annual Bazaar last week.
If you would like to subscribe to our diocesan newsletter and learn about what’s happening in our extended Church, just click on the link below. You’ll receive an email message every week with information about programs and events hosted by your Episcopalian brothers and sisters throughout the diocese.

Peace my friends, Rob+
