Along The Pilgrim Way
Our pilgrimage continued from Ireland to Brittany, France, another region of Celtic Saints. Our Holy Eucharist was at St Meriadec’s Church in Stival, a 15th Century Stone structure with frescoes highlighting the life of this 7th Century Celtic Saint, sent from Wales to Brittany.

A Note From Father Rob
Tomorrow, September 21, is a special day on our church calendar. It is the day we remember the discipleship and works of St. Matthew. No, not the golf pro at Willow Point, who single-handedly saved my golf game, though I do think of him as a saint.

In Search of Celtic Saints
These believers from the fifth and sixth centuries led others to Jesus through prayer, education, and service. The Celtic Christian faith was deep as the native peoples saw God in the beauty of nature and in all creation.

A Note From Father Rob
I like a message that speaks of love. I like a message that speaks of love, grace, peace, hope and the joys of being a disciple of my Lord, Jesus Christ. I love a message that builds up my heart and gives me a sense of peace to live out the days of my week.

Here at the tail end of the long, hot days of summer, we finally have some relief in the form of cooler temperatures and light rains. It is a welcome relief and a sign of days to come.

May we find some rest for our souls this Labor Day weekend. May Jesus continue to refresh us. And when work must be done, may we remember that Jesus is ever with us.

A Note From Father Rob
By the time you read this note, I will be walking around one of my favorite places on this Earth, Camp McDowell.

This week the diocese held a continuing education workshop for clergy with authors Jim Davis and Michael Graham who discussed their book, The Great Dechurching: Who’s Leaving, Why Are They Going, and What Will It Take To Bring Them Back.

A Note From Father Rob
The other day, when I was in the church all by myself, I had occasion to go to the downstairs of the building. You know, the inner sanctum where St. James ministries abound. While down there, I visited the Pottery Guild room, and you will never guess what I found.

Our Anglican tradition remembers Mary, the mother of Jesus, on August 15. We honor her willingness to say “yes” to be the God-bearer and her devotion to her son throughout his ministry on earth.

You all know how much I love music and singing. I’ve often heard that singing is praying twice. I have thanked a couple of bishops who incorporate songs into their sermons for giving me permission to do the same from time to time.
